Liturgy Committee and Music Ministry

Decsription: The Liturgy Committee organizes liturgical celebrations and prayer experiences to support the spiritual development of each member of the parish.  This committee also oversees the various liturgical ministries of the parish.

Meetings: Scheduled as needed
Needed: Volunteers are needed to brainstorm, discuss, and implement specific ideas for liturgical celebrations.  It would be helpful if one or more from the Arts and Environment Committee would attend planning sessions.

Description:  This choir is made up of men and women from high school age to all adults.  The choir sings at Mass about once a month and at feasts of the Church, Holy Days and other Parish Celelbrations.

Meetings: The St. Gregory Barbarigo Adult Choir meets in the church on Wednesdays at 7pm from mid-August through May.

Volunteers: If you are interested in joining the adult choir you are welcome at rehearsal anytime or contact the parish office for more information.  Come share your talents and love of music while enjoying fellowship with fellow choir members

Needed: All voice types are needed in the choir, but particularly men and altos.  Instrumentalists are also always welcome to participate.  Please contact the parish office if you are interested in sharing your talents with our parish.

Description:  St. Gregory Barbarigo has a Junior High/High School Praise Choir and and Adult Praise Choir.  These groups sing at Mass approximately once a month.

Description: Cantors help lead the congregation during Mass.  Cantors are generally scheduled once a month, but the schedule depends on your availability.  All cantors will be trained by the music director and should be strong singers comfortable with leading the congregation. 

Volunteers: If you are interested in cantoring, please contact the music director at the parish office.

Needed: We are always in need of cantors to sing at Mass.  Come share your talents with St. Gregory Barbarigo!

Description:  There are a variety of ways that you can share your instrumental talents at St. Gregory Barbarigo:

• Accompanist - organist and pianists are needed to provide accompaniment for Mass and to accompany our various musical groups.
• Musician - musicians of all types are welcome to provide music for Masses and to join our Adult choir or Praise Choirs.  Examples of instrumentalists we have had in the past: guitar, violin, flute, clarinet, trumpet, electric guitar/bass, percussion

Needed: Instrumentalists are also always welcome to participate in either the choir or at weekly Masses. There is a particular need for guitarists and percussionists for our Praise Choirs and C or Bb instrumentalists for the Adult Choir.

Description:  This involves using the remote to advance slides during mass.  It also may require being able to set up the computer and projector before Mass begins.
