Youth Ministry at St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish

Mission:

By Baptism, we are all called to full membership in our Church through our time, treasure and talents with other members, both now and as future leaders of St. Gregory's.

Description:

Our comprehensive program is youth driven, while offering a multitude of programs that focus on meeting the spiritual, service, and social needs of young adults and creating opportunities for youth to become integrated and active members with our parish. Most importantly, our program strives to provide youth with a sense of belonging within their faith community. The emphasis is based on creating an environment in which youth can deepen their faith and build community. St. Gregory's youth ministry programs are open to all youth in grades 6-12.

M&M:

This program is called a Meal & a Message, or simply M&M for short. The purpose of M&M is to provide our 6th-8th grade youth with a regularly scheduled opportunity to gather in fellowship, break bread and engage in faith building activities. Youth will begin their evening by sharing a meal, and at 7pm, we will start with our faith-building activity. The youth will finish their evening with prayers by 8pm.

Approximately, once a month, typically the last Wednesday of the month, the youth will have the opportunity to participate in Open Gym night at the St. Gregory’s School Gym from 6:30-8pm. Throughout the school year, youth will have the opportunity for service, community building and social outlets, for example, working at the animal shelter, B.R.U.S.H., Northland Mini-Mission Day, M&M SummerFun, Weston Barn Dance, Half Lock In, Fall Hayride, and skating.

The middle school leadership team meets bimonthly to suggest new activities and plan for upcoming events such as the half lock-ins and SummerFun.

A successful Youth Ministry Program cannot exist without the active support & involvement of the entire parish community. Whether you have a specific talent to share, fundraising or service ideas for youth ministry, a vehicle ready for travel, a snack to give, there is a place for everyone! Please contact our Youth Minister at 660-582-3833 to find out how you can make a difference in the lives of our youth!
