Choir:
Choir is for parishioners, ninth
grade through adult, who have a desire to sing and
lead music in worship in a group setting. Choir
members must also be willing to practice and sing
regularly at Mass (September through June).
Servers:
Boys and girls in the third grade
through high school may serve Sunday Masses. Third
through eighth grade St. Gregory's School students
serve the weekday Mass during the week. There are no
regular meetings, but the boys and girls must finish
training to prepare to serve. The servers have a
rotating schedule.
Communion Ministers:
Communion ministers serve St.
Gregory's Parish by helping the priest distribute
communion to the congregation during the liturgies.
Communion Ministers are scheduled on a rotating
basis at each of the weekend liturgies throughout
the year. Communion ministers also serve the parish
by taking communion to parishioners who are sick and
homebound or in area nursing homes. Special training
sessions are provided by the Diocese throughout the
year.
Lectors:
Lectors serve St. Gregory's
Parish by proclaiming the scripture readings at the
liturgies on weekends and most weekdays. Lectors are

basis throughout the year. Special training sessions
are provided by the Diocese throughout the year.
Greeters:
Greeters serve St. Gregory's
Parish as ministers of hospitality, greeting and
welcoming people as they arrive for the weekend
liturgies. Their ministry is one of helping
parishioners and visitors feel at home at St.
Gregory's. They are scheduled to serve for a month
at a Mass of their preference. Anyone is welcome to
join this group.
Ushers:
Ushers also are ministers of
hospitality for the weekend liturgies. Some of their
duties include the following: seating the
congregation, collecting the offering, setting up
reserved seating, counting the number of people in
attendance, assisting in emergencies, distributing
the bulletin and Catholic
Key and other materials as needed, and
coordinating the gifts to the altar.
