I earned an MSEd in Teaching Music from NW (2005) and a BA in Flute performance from Mary Washington College (now known as University of Mary Washington) in Fredericksburg, Virginia (1990). I have been teaching at St. Gregory’s (my first teaching job) since October 31, 2005. Before earning my teaching certificate I substitute taught for about 5 years. I love talking to students about what types of music they listen to in their free time. I also love playing and teaching every instrument we have at St. Gregory’s. I consider it pure joy when I see a student work through a tough passage until they not only learn it but love it.
I enjoy watching movies, jogging with my MP3, having dinner with my family and laughing until I cry. My favorite foods are hot fudge sundaes, French fries, popcorn and spaghetti.
I was born in Buffalo, NY and grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia as the youngest of 3 daughters. I met my husband in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1986; we were married in 1990. Just after we married we moved to Moscow, Idaho where our two kids were born: a daughter and a son. While in Idaho I ran my own daycare until my husband was hired by NW in 1996.
